#14 bangles

Q#1 ~ Do you know the origin of the word Bangle?

It is from the Hindi bangli, variant of bangri, meaning बंग्ली (“glass bracelet”), glass ring, armlet.
My collection are a hotchpotch of metal, wood, lacquer, cloisonné, silver, shell and enamel.

Q#2 ~ What is Cloisonné?

“It is an ancient technique for decorating metalwork objects . . . by first adding compartments . . . to the metal object by soldering or adhering silver or gold wires . . . these remain visible in the finished piece, separating the different compartments of the enamel or inlays . . . often of several colors.” Wiki

Q#3 ~ Fancy doing a Cloisonné workshop?

Are you near Queensland, California or 1930s China?

Cool colours. I was going to offer you a hundred dollars for that rake, but I just realised it probably has 200 dollars worth of bangles on it…
