#10 1970s party invitations

Preteen Party, Party, Party! ~ 70s style.

The invites are from 1974 to 1978 (we were between 9 & 13 years old)

What did we get up to?

Ten Pin Bowling . . . “Please bring socks”
Ice Skating . . . “Dad will drive you home”
Beach Party . . . “Bring Swimming Costume” “Please come”
Luna Park . . . “We are going to Luny Park”
Pool Party . . . “To Stewbie . . . bring costume”
Balmoral Beach . . . “. . . so bring your swimmers”
Movies Foul Play, Grease and one of the Pink Panther films.

And my favourite invite . . .

After exam get together . . . “Could you please just wear something casual, and bring a favourite record. P.S. This is not a birthday party!”

My favourite record in 1976? I was a preteen in Australia, so . . . ABBA!

Do you remember what music you were listening to when you were 11?

I loved Abba too! I still do actually. I think my first record though was a Brian Ferry one with “Lets stick together” on it (where Jerry Hall comes sashaying in).

Let’s Stick Together, 1976 – AMAZING video clip! My 11yo stepbrother would be Brian & my 8yo cousin performed the sashaying Jerry, very entertaining! Wish there was a video of it somewhere.

These are amazing. Took me right back to 1973. Thank-you!
